When Miley is out here referring to the beef of Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, you know an album drop is right around the corner. On Friday morning, the former coach The Voice released a six-track EP— an album mixing hip hop, pop, ambient, country, and dance music. Apart from having a good time and exercising her ability to drop whatever she wants, there doesn’t seem to be much of a cohesive message throughout this project.
She has recently dropped two EP singles: “Cattitude” with RuPaul and “D.R.E.A.M.” with Ghostface Killah. She Is Coming is laced with references to sex, heavy drug use, and overall obscenity, which is interesting given previously made statements by the former twerk-ster that the glorification of these topics is why she is no longer listening to hip hop.
“I also love the new Kendrick[ Lamar] song[” Humble”]:’ Show me subjecthin’ with some stretch marks,’ she said.” I love that because it’s not’ Sit on my dck, suck on my cock.’ I can no longer listen to that, “she explained.” That’s what pushed me out a little bit of the hip-hop scene. It was too much’ Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my cck’—I’m not that. “She later explained her comments, saying she loves hip-hop and respects the ability of an artist to express themselves.
