While he hasn’t yet said precisely when fans can expect his upcoming record, Hotel Diablo, Machine Gun Kelly’s rollout of fresh music is a good sign that it will be supplied earlier than later. On the very last day of May morning, with the release of his track “el diablo,” the rap-spitting rapper dropped off another single, and now he’s back to debut his single “I Think I’m OK” with blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and British rock musician YUNGBLUD.
The three teams are up to produce an intensely emotional (but also catchy) rock ballad detailing the struggles of a vapid life full of booze and drugs, and the resulting emptiness and bad choices. The songs start with a smooth guitar riff and similarly smooth vocals from Kelly detailing what can be presumed to be a connection with “fucking up,” with YUNGBLUD lending his falsetto to add to the song’s punk rock atmosphere. The famous drumming abilities of Barker are well displayed as he provides a high energy performance that complements the impassioned vocals of the other two completely throughout. Kelly’s fans will surely appreciate the track’s refreshing (but not unauthentic) rock-n-roll feel.
