The drive-by shooting left Tee Grizzley in mourning for the death of his aunt Jobina Brown.
Yesterday, reports of a brutal drive-by left shooting shook hip-hop. Tee Grizzley, coming out of the excellent Bible release, was sitting in the passenger seat of his Cadillac Escalade. His aunt Jobina Brown, who also acted as her manager, was sitting in the back seat. According to TMZ, a gunman approached the car and opened fire, killing Brown and leaving Grizzley and the driver unscathed; it was unclear whether that was his intention or not, but it had been speculated that Grizzley was indeed a target. Unfortunately, Jobina Brown did not survive, and died in hospital at the age of 41.
Tee Grizzley and his camp have not yet discussed the tragedy, but he does not stand alone. It’s hard to imagine losing a loved one before your eyes. Sometimes we underestimate music makers; the stories they share and the pain they have overcome have provided us with entertainment for years.
