On her newest track, “Ego Check,” Portland Rapper Wynne teamed up with Dreamville artist JID. Every time JID is on a record, you know it’s going to be a hot one, and Wynne always capitalizes on it by performing her best. Lines such as JID’s “I’m tired, maybe I’m putting a Tommy gun in Tomi Lahren’s face” or Wynne’s “I’m sick right now / hits with JID right now / I’m on your man’s dick right now / new fit right now” are tough and hilarious. This track is filled with great bars and Wynne’s impressively well-sung chorus divides each verse. Her “Who do you know about this?” The line is floating on the beat. There’s nothing too crazy about production here, but it doesn’t have to be.
Wynne is set to release a debut mixtape called “iF I MAY..” on October 25th. If it’s as fire as this track, it’s definitely worth checking out for “iF I MAY.” For now, listen to “Ego Check” below.
