Generation Now rapper Jack Harlow still hasn’t seen the strength of Loose last year, which featured performances from CyHi The Prynce, K Camp, and many more. Today, the emcee of Louisville returns with a new single, perhaps part of whatever the next venture is. “Thru The Night” discovers Harlow connecting with fan-favorite Bryson Tiller, taking uptempo samples from Usher’s “U Don’t Have To Call” for some soulful vibrations.
Harlow started with an opening poem, kicking the flow of uptempo toward prospective love interest. For the most part, “Thru The Night” is leaning toward romance, and Bryson Tiller takes where Jack left. Even though he’s certainly good with melodies, it’s always fun to see Bryson give a few bars. In this go-around, multi-Trapsoul talents provide a smooth flow, navigating the 808 grooves with a caring-devil attitude. Short, sweet and simple in essence, “Thru The Night” is a welcome addition to the Harlow catalog, and who might be able to get some radio broadcasts in the process.
Quotable Lyrics
When I first laid eyes I was awful enticed
And I might be off something but I’m all in now
She gotta call in now, I don’t think you should work tomorrow
She said first of all, I’m still goin’ in like Rich Homie Quan
