Almost a year ago, the Reading & Leeds Festival announced its lineup for 2019. The two-day event featured artists such as Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Stefflon Don, Foo Fighters, DaBaby, Yungblud and Chicago’s own Juice WRLD. UK fans were eager to buy their tickets and see their favorite artists on stage. However, the hordes of Juice WRLD spectators were disappointed.
According to NME, the 20-year-old artist was ready to begin his performance at 16:10. A DJ flew over the huge crowd waiting for Juice WRLD, but just five minutes later, host Huw Stephens grabbed the microphone and delivered a message. “We have an important announcement to make and we are afraid it will be bad news,” he said. “Juice WRLD will not be able to perform today due to a flight problem.”
Before leaving, supporters would have let their frustrations go by hoisting the stage and storming social media to criticize them. Fans also said that Lil Uzi Green was supposed to happen, but he also pulled back at the last minute. However, his name does not appear on the festival website.
