Previously opened to the problem of being compared with Beyonce, detailing how her “whole life is about individuality” and being compared with another act removes her authenticity. Lizzo not wanting to be compared with Bey doesn’t mean there’s no love for the singer and in a recent interview with Tim Shiel (Australian radio host), the singer “Truth Hurts” explained why she didn’t meet Beyonce yet given the many possibilities she had.
“I’ve had a lot of opportunities because she’s been in the room or someone like’ Did you meet B? Would you like me to introduce you?’ And I always say’ Nope!’ because I’m so scared that I’m so scared of meeting her,” she said.
Lizzo let it be known she’s not scared of renowned individuals, she’d love from afar. “I think they know my music as well by the time I get to them. I’ve never approached an artist and was like,’ Hi, I’m a big fan.’ I’m always wide with my eyes and I just don’t say anything,” she clarified. “I’m in a place now that they’re approaching me and saying,’ Hey, I like your s#t,’ and I’m like,’ Woah, that’s interesting!'”
