Just a few years ago, as Jermaine Dupri’s first winner and Da Brat’s reality show The Rap Game, Miss Mulatto made history. The series of competitions pits young rappers against each other as Dupri tries to find So So Def star for the next youth. Although Mulatto, the real name of Alyssa Michelle Stephens, beat her opponents out and took home bragging rights as well as a contract, the teenage rapper ultimately decided she wouldn’t want to be a So So Def artist. She later stated in an interview with DJ Vlad that the money was not right and she knew that as an independent artist she could make more.
She’s dropped the “Miss” now 20-year-old and continues to release new music for her fans, including her two million followers. Mulatto partnered her southern swag with boastful lyrics on her latest effort called “F*ck Rice Street.” Also, Mulatto raps about being locked up while targeting the officers who put her in prison. Listen and let us know what you’re thinking.
