It’s still a bit to early to say, but all indications point to the Scriptures of Tee Grizzley being a crucial time in the life of the Detroit rapper. For one, under the tutelage of the iconic Timbaland, who was originally attracted to the sincere storytelling of Grizzley, the project was created. So it’s no wonder that Tee’s recent instrumentation is a coherent throughline, with Big Timbo coming through in years to produce some of his best beats. However, one of the most strong moments of the album is not created directly by Tim, but by Chopsquad DQ, who concludes stuff with “Young Grizzley World.”
As the only song to include guest appearances, it may be tempting to gravitate toward the YNW Melly and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie assisted “Young Grizzley World” on the basis name recognition alone.
In reality, the Scriptures contain many highlights, some of which have a more immediate immediacy than this one. But considering the position of “Young Grizzley World” in closing Tee’s most mature album to date, the thematic meaning of it all is difficult to deny. Hats off to Tee Grizzley and Timbaland for a powerful workplace across the board.
