After the announcement that the fourth chapter of the Blue M & M saga mixtape was scheduled to arrive on August 23, PeeWee Longway had set the table with a new single called “Fiji Water.” Although familiar with the turn-up, this go-around found Longway changing style, giving something more melancholy than fans predicted. At least where is instrumental related; the arpeggio minor-key piano creates a somber tone, a strange background to Longway’s depiction of sexual relations. It is a strange alignment to be sure, but surprisingly effective.
“We are on the same page, we will read the whole book, dear,” he said, on the song’s hook. “Walking through the blues, I can do some help / run through the bag to get a few different flavors.” As the poem goes by, Longway begins the story, presenting a compelling narrative about hip-hop’s favorite power pair, Bonnie & Clyde, and its own street acumen. Look at this now, and keep an eye on the upcoming PeeWee project.
Quotable Lyrics
Gold mouth shawty, yeah I’m still selling dope
I take every shot like Husky, I’m an Amazon endorsement
Know I’m the dough man, I’m the strap man, I’m the pat man
I’m in all black like Batman, I’m robbin’
