As last night’s musical guest (May 18), DJ Khaled graced the Saturday Night Live stage, and of course he brought some friends with him. While Khaled is a legend in his own right, if he hopped on stage solo, SNL wouldn’t have been as exciting. The show was hosted by Paul Rudd, better known these days as Ant-Man, who introduced Khaled. First Lil Wayne and Big Sean were brought out by the energetic DJ to perform “Jealous.” But the features didn’t stop there.
Next, Khaled brought Jeremih, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, and J Balvin to the stage for “You Stay” performance. Khaled spent most of the performance yelling ad libs and sailing around the stage, which was at least a little awkward to see.
On his next stage trip, Khaled brought SZA out for the Outkast sampled “Just Us.” When he sampled Carlos Santana’s “Maria Maria,” Khaled stirred up some controversy, and “Just Us” will undoubtedly rub some people off the wrong way as well. Next, Meek came back to the stage to drop his verse for “Weather the Storm” before John Legend walked out to perform “Higher.” Legend sang his heart out while playing the piano as a neon Nipsey Hussle image shone brightly in the background.
