Rome Fortune is one of the most eclectic artists in Atlanta. While eclecticism is nothing new from artists from A, Rome Fortune, like many of its predecessors, ruined the mold on its requirements. Earlier today, he announced that he had a new album and started a campaign with his single, “Ethan Hawke.” His latest song has a different funk effect for that which has a positive message around embracing individuality.
“Ethan Hawke is a great actor, but I named the track with him as a semi-political nod,” he told HighSnobiety about the title of the song. “In the rhyme scheme where I mention it, it was an unexpected reference point to say I stepped on any bar and was treated like a middle-aged white man. That was a very good treatment there.”
Look forward to the album Rome Fortune, FREEKtales falls on October 11.
Quotable Lyrics
I like your fancy car
Life, I like where you are
‘Cause you step in any bar
And they treat you like Ethan Hawke
