Royce Da 5’9″ Calls Out Lord Jamar & DJ Vlad Over Eminem Disrespect

By now, you’re probably conscious of the latest batch of interviews from Lord Jamar and DJ Vlad, in which Eminem seemed to be the main subject of debate. It’s no secret that neither people seem to hold Eminem highly esteemed, or even slightly esteemed for it. However, the discussion always tends to move back to Slim, particularly when both people are sitting opposite each other. Now, Royce Da 5’9 “has taken Instagram to tackle Jamar and Vlad directly in reaction to all the blatant disrespect.

“If individuals knew how much cash he had made from this shit they would likely have looked at it differently,” says Royce, at the beginning of a livestream. “Especially Lord Jamar. You’re a legend in the game, you’re part of a unique group. You’re going and sitting in that man’s couch, sitting in that man’s chair, and you’re running up those opinions because you’ve got so much contentious shit to say about a fuckin’ individual. [Vlad] walks away with the check and you’re walking away seeking attention.

“Speaking of Em like’ real n* as you don’t listen to his music,'” Royce describes. “First of all, you’re not the measuring stick of who’s real, who’s cool. I don’t know what you’re thinking of us here, or you’re thinking of me. I understand you’re saying you’re respecting 50, but the other n* know who I don’t respect. I don’t care about that shit. You don’t have to respect me just don’t disrespect me. I don’t want any problems with anyone and I don’t want anyone to fuck up.”

“You’re not cool to me, you’re not hard to me, you’re not the measuring stick of what street n* you’re listening to,” Royce tells. “I don’t look at you like any kind of road n*a. I look at you the same way you look at Marshall. You’re saying he’s talking about a lot of shit he’s not doing? I feel like you’ve been rapping a lot of shit you’ve never done, and you’re still not doing it.

He also requires a moment to tackle Griselda, just inked a Shady Records distribution agreement with the Buffalo-based crew Eminem; you may recall that Conway was lately the topic of a contentious VladTV interview. “These are my n***as, so I don’t see your side if I go to your show and interview you and I know you’re not fucking with Griselda,” Royce continues. “You keep bringing up my name on the show like’ Royce would never come to the show and say something bad about Marshall.’ You goddamn right. I’d say nothing bad about any of my colleagues on your show.”

After explaining that in such a divisive discourse cultural unity can never be accomplished, he invites both men to cover a whole distinct subject of discussion. “We respect what you’re doing,” Royce suggests. “I respect Lord Jamar and what he stood for in the culture… I wish you nothing but the best bro. But your opinion doesn’t mean anything. You can’t like shit from here to across the street, neither do we fucking care, nor anybody else. I hate putting it to you like that, because I don’t mean disrespect, but you really have a fake feeling of what’s going on here in the globe.

“Please tell me a line you said that qualifies you to criticize a top-tier lyricist in your career?” he continues. “I don’t give a fuck if you don’t like his music, the motherfucker is in everybody’s top 5. You don’t get there just by being a white rapper.” He says doubters are likely to brush his words off as biased, despite the reality that he approaches it purely from the view of a lyricist. “There’s a tiny motherfucker community that went before we got on to the hip-hop store,” he describes. “We were the n***as backpack. Usefully, we listened to Em’s album. Everyone in the hood was listening to Em’s album, it was in songs.

“Every real n***a ain’t street and every street n***a ain’t real,” he says. “Every n***a in the hood ain’t a street n**a that only want to listen to Jeezy. Every n***a that sit his broke ass on DJ Vlad couch don’t qualify to speak for real n***as. Ya’ll n***as ain’t fuckin’ cool man, ya’ll goofy as fuck!”

Be sure to check out the full video below – there are plenty of gems to be found, shared by a true legend in the game. Clearly, Bad Meets Evil ties run deep, and we can only hope the pair link up for a new album before long. Respect to Royce for keeping it real, as expected.
