Kool Keith, the Bronx’s very own, published a new single called “Turn the Levels.” Keith dropped his B-Real-assisted song “Zero Fux” in mid-May and the veteran rapper is slowly but constantly preparing to release his upcoming KEITH project. Since his release Feature Magnetic in 2016, the 14-track record will be his first Kool Keith album, and it is said that Psycho Les has created the entire album. Jeru The Damaja, B-Real, and Paul Wall are supposedly guests, and the project is scheduled to be released on July 12.
Kool Keith provides a song on “Turn the Levels,” which seems to be more worried with wordplay than anything else. The 55-year-old rapper has centuries of wisdom and experience under his belt, and KEITH is sure to show the lyrical skills that fans have supported over the years. “There’s a lot more editing and reworking things with other artists, with Keith either going to work or not,” said the rapper’s Dan the Automator. “I believe we’ve done nine songs one day, but we’ve done about four other days. If Keith’s in his area and he’s writing well, things come out fairly fast.
