The success of Calboy began with “Envy Me,” which on his new full-length effort, Wildboy, acts as the first song. The 10-track offering showcases the melodic sensitivities of the young artist, as if “Envy Me” was not enough proof to start with.
With “Adam & Eve,” the melodies continue head-on, and the third song (“Love Me”) makes it clear that love and heartbreak is a prominent theme for Calboy right now.
He has a few features to choose from here too— choice in the sense that they all make sense as collaborators, they all give the song a similar melodic / trap tone, from Moneybagg Yo to the much-coveted Young Thug and the newly-handcuffed Lil Durk. This kid is an eye-catching one.
Lest we forget it’s the very beginning of his journey and it’s just up from here— he’s starting to start on pretty high ground.
