Once again, Denzel Curry has created a hip hop album worthy of praise, continuing his domination. He’s been dubbed one of the game’s hottest rappers at the moment, and while that’s a title some have to live up to, Curry doesn’t seem to struggle with applause as he delivered ZUU. His 2018 TA1300 record climbed the 200 charts of the Billboard and made him an artist to watch as his anti-conformist art gained fans ‘ hearts— and ears. The conceptualization of lyricism, music, and visual art intensifies the magnetism of Curry as a hip-hop artist, and ZUU is not disappointed as Curry continues to shift and develop.
Born-and-bred rapper from Florida holds his home state down, and ZUU includes features from Rick Ross, Kiddo Marv, Ice Billion Berg, Sam Sneak, and PlayThatBoiZay. Recently, Curry sat down with us to discuss ZUUand how he created his latest project, which was almost released as a mixtape. He shared that he’s excited to hear the feedback from everyone, but whether they like it or not, he knows he’s created a great project that reflects his current viewpoint.
“I know how the reception will be,” Curry HNHH. “My main point to the reception is this: you’re going to like it, you’re going to hate it, you’re going to talk about it. It’s cool for as long as you’re talking about it. But I’m not going to give you any wack sh*t at my end. If you think it’s wack, that’s your point of view. Me, that’s my life right now. I really feel homesick, so I’ve done that.”
