Ashanti recently said true R&B music is missing from the genre, but it sounds as if Rotimi is hoping with his new EP Walk With Me to bring the vibe back. The 30-year-old entertainer is widely known on the hit TV series Power for his role as Andre Coleman, but he is also a talented singer who has been releasing music steadily for some time.
Throughout Walk With Me, the Nigerian-American performer pays homage to his heritage as production borrows beats from his motherland from traditional rhythms. The singer recently talked about the track “Love Riddim” with Hollywood Life, saying “I think we’re in a climate where there’s so much stress and anger and evil. I wanted something with the word love that led. Rhythm is just your interpretation of sound, movement, vibes, and a rhythm is definitely something that involves other people, so I wanted it to be essentially a way to say’ spread love,'” he told us.
