Billy Woods has become one of the best voices of the New York underground scene for years now. dark, intelligent, introspective style it is something to behold. Albums such as Hiding Places, or working under the moniker Elucid Armand Hammer is the most artistic projects and interesting of recent years. Management of terror is no different; but here, feels existential threat. “The world is getting hotter, we go the other way,” Woods tapped to start the project, setting the tone early.
Woods work always takes time to marinate before it can be fully appreciated, but the initial impression left “Western Education Is Forbidden” as one of the better track projects. Bar like “Fahrenheit established in ’99, but it does not fire the current / cool touch screen, light, shine / Unable to read the book if I try to” send the tech paranoia permeates through the listener.
