This year, Joey Fatts dropped an album and an EP, but he dropped a music video today for a song that wasn’t on either of them. Obviously, the Long Beach rapper has decided to make 2019 a better year for him and since then he has been swinging. Chipper Jones Vol, the album he released in May. 4, harnessed a dark style and showed that he was able to cater to the mainstream trap palettes. The EP with which he followed in July, 4 My Chapter, Vol. 1, more concentrated on the sound of the west coast with all its wobbly synth lines.
If he had to submerge his new song, “Fuc You,” in the environment of either of these Projects, it would be more appropriate for the latter. His rhythm might sound like something you’ve heard so many times before, but the charisma of Joey Fatts makes the song worth it. The track’s music video is just as funny as it is for one-liners, “the trap get to sing like Patti Labelle.”
