Taylor Swift Already Has A No. 1 Album After One Day In Sales

Taylor Swift has recorded the biggest sales week of the year after only one day in album sales with her latest lover’s output.

Within a span of 4 hours, Lover had claimed sales of around 450,000 copies, greatly aided by pre-order sales. The frame surpassed the record previously set by the Jonas Brothers that Happiness Begins launched with 357,000 copies on the first day.

Jonas Brothers finally finished with 414,000 copies in a whole week, but analysts estimate that Swift could reach sales of 550,000 to 700,000 by the end of the tracking week.

Such large sales will be driven by the four CD edition collections currently available at Target stores in addition to a number of merchandise and album bundle sales available on the Swift website.

It also marks the biggest selling week for any album since Swift’s own reputation was launched in December 2017, ending with a total of 1,216 million copies sold in the first week.

Arriving only this weekend on the 23rd of August, Lover became the seventh full studio album in the Swift catalog and because it was ready to take the top spot, it would be the sixth album of the 1st pop star.
