The latest effort by Trae provides listeners with insight into his thinking processes and what issues plague him as a man, artist, and father.
The most important role Trae plays in life is fatherhood, something he recently shared that helped shape his creative process when exhale was crafted. His track “Letter 2 Truth” is an outpouring of emotion towards his daughter as the emcee relieves himself from the often tough outside rap persona and shares his vulnerability with fans.
“It makes me go harder and it gives me a new set of wings,” he told DJ Booth how he was changed as an artist by being a father. “It rejuvenates you when you’re a fighter and you feel like you’re about to tap.”
