With “Hot Girl Bummer,” Blackbear Rides Megan Thee Stallion’s Wave

When Blackbear announced he would release a new song called “Hot Girl Bummer,” mixed responses were gained by the Los Angeles-based artist. After falling Anonymous, his diehard fans were thrilled to see him re-upping. The general public was not, however, amused. The “Hot Girl Summer” movement by Megan Thee Stallion has been one of the greatest stuff throughout the year and it feels like it’s going to survive the hotter months. Bear may argue he’s not parodying her sentence and he’s totally right to some extent. The track doesn’t sound like the anthem of Meg with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. We’re sure, though, that the Hotties won’t let him win readily.

The song is now formally out and Blackbear has published a music video for it along with the audio. “Hot Girl Bummer” is a song about women who prefer more of a low-life atmosphere to fight the concept of living your best life.

“This that throws up in your Birkin bag, hook up randomly with somebody,” tells the song artist. No matter how you feel about the song’s concept, you can’t claim that Blackbear is a skilled man. At this stage he’s been out for a minute and continues to develop as a composer, creating some of today’s most interesting melodies from anyone. What are you thinking about this one?
