Young Thug has just released his latest project, So Much Fun, which looks like his biggest album to date. Thug is the OG in the game at the moment, which has influenced a whole generation of children to embrace the fluidity of gender, individuality, and life without limits. So Much Fun summarizes all that but in a way, it also marks a new era for Thug’s career. Even though it hasn’t been a week since he dropped the album, it looks like we can expect a new project from him in a matter of months.
Thugger recently discussed The Fader in which he devised several new plans in the coming months. The rapper revealed at the end of July that he had a new album called Punk that came in “two months.” “This is the most touching music,” Thug said of the album. “This is music that the world will embrace.”
He continues to divulge that the title of the album has a deeper meaning for him which, by the way, encompasses his personality. “[Punk] means brave, unselfish, conscious. Very, very neglected, very misunderstood. Very patient, very authentic,” he continued.
Thug also continues to explain what his intentions are with this album. Depending on the old head’s energy level, one might argue that Thug “damages hip-hop.” But in Punk, Thug said that he wanted to bring back “real rap.”
“[Real rap] lets people in, lets people know what you’re going through. Let them know that you’re the same,” he said.
