The wave’s return is real as Max B drops another single with his good friend and longtime French Montana collaborator. The pair add to their Coke Wave series and Montana recently announced the arrival of Coke Waves 4 in two weeks. The rappers delivered “Don’t Push Me,” a single that samples Grandmaster Flash and the classic “The Message” from the Furious Five released on Sugar Hill Records back in 1982 to build more hype around the release.
The 41-year-old incarcerated rapper spoke out of prison on his new single, saying he wanted to “recapture some of that old flavor— the feeling of Grandmaster Flash, the feeling of Ice Cube’s’ Check Yo Self.'” Max B added, “There’s no more music out there right now, that’s some ancient folklore. So we have to put that back into perspective. I’ve been coming with a funk.” Listen and let us know what you’re thinking.
