Another weekend is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean we’re done dropping off hot new releases for you to think about adding to your streaming rotation. Next up on our list is a track from the Florida-born rapper SpotemGottem, who recently celebrated a successful comeback with the release of his “Block Got Hot” single on Friday.
The song, which was released by Rebel Music/Geffen Records and clocks in at just under two minutes, finds the 21-year-old artist channeling his signature aggressive style and on-the-ground detail that his fans have come to know and love.
“The block got hot bitch I’m lit as hell / I woke up today and put on YSL,” he rhymes on the catchy chorus. “Them bowls don’t look right I put it on the scale / I’m fresh up out the county I’m too rich for jail.”
Back From The Dead is SpotemGottem’s most recent full-length record, which was released at the end of 2021. It features guest appearances from Icewear Vezzo (“On A Tee”), Tory Lanez (“No Strings Attached”), and Hurricane Wisdom (“Got A Lil Older”) among others.
It is still unknown when the artist from Jacksonville plans to release his next album; but, in 2022, he has already released a number of songs, including “Snapshit,” “Confidential Story,” “Get Backers,” and “Twin Turbo” with Lil Spooki.
SG shot to prominence when he was only 19 years old, and ever since then, he has only gone on to achieve even more success with each new tune he has released. In April of 2020, he released Final Destination, which featured the song “Beat Box,” which has since gained widespread attention and was instrumental in propelling his career to new heights.
