Young Thug has experienced So Much Fun this week, as you know. His latest project marks a new era in Thugger’s career, where he was finally embraced by the mainstream after years of being a critical lover with diverse followers. After a full week consuming the project, it seems that the rapper has the number one album in the country. According to Hits Daily Double, rapper So Much Fun’s new album moved 127,508 units which is equivalent to the album in the first week with 5,142 of which came from pure album sales. This falls at the lower end of the projected sales for the project. Industry experts estimate that it will sell anywhere between 125K-150K. However, this is still a major milestone in Thugger’s career.
Even though he was only released one week from the album’s release, the rapper has announced plans for his next project. Punk is set to arrive before the end of 2019 and says that it will be music that will reflect more of itself compared to So Much Fun. “So Much Fun like nothing is thought of. It’s just for fun purposes. The name of the album is straightforward as to what it means,” he explained. “The difference with Punk is that I let them into my real life. I let them know all the situations I’ve ever experienced. Opening up, letting fans enter, I feel like I’ve never let them.”
