Jay Z & Will Smith Reportedly Investing in Airbnb’s Inspired Camping Applications

A few days ago, we posted about the collaboration of Will Smith and Jay-Z in an upcoming series called Women of the Movement. The program will touch on the civil rights movement based on women’s experience, specifically the story of Emmett Till with the perspective of her mother, Mamie Till. Page Six now reports that the two will gather again for a completely different effort played by Airbnb.

According to the publication, Jay and Will have invested in Hipcamp which is an application that calls itself “Airbnb camping.” The premise is that it offers users the ability to rent lawns and outdoor space for camping. Apparently, the company has made $ 25 million in fundraising efforts and Jay has added funds with his Marcy Venture Partners while Will has done the same with his VC Dreamers funds.

Aside from Jay’s efforts with Will Smith, he recently took on an important role with the NFL since creating a “entertainment and social justice partnership” which means ROC Nation will be co-producer of the Super Bowl part-time event.

“He really brought this conversation to life,” Jay-Z said of Colin Kaepernick. “We like to think that the way we build [the NFL social awareness program] inspires the Change platform, that if something close to it will happen in the future, then Kaepernick will have a platform where he can express himself and maybe it doesn’t have to happen on the field . “
